A man and woman were caught trying to smuggle cocaine into Egypt through Cairo International Airport on Monday night. The man, 30, and the woman, 24, were both carrying Peruvian passports. To conceal the drugs, they made an external cover for their bag resembling the original and stashed the drugs right in between.

According to El Ahram, airport authorities had known about the smugglers before they arrived as they changed their flight to fly in from Ethiopia, which seemed suspicious. Youm 7 mentions that around 4.27 kg of pure cocaine was brought into the country with the intent of distributing. A report was filed and the drugs were confiscated by customs officials.
