Dina Habib Powell Becomes First Egyptian-American To Join Trump Administration

Egyptian-American Dina Habib Powell has decided to leave her position at Goldman Sachs to join the Trump administration to focus on stimulating economic growth, female empowerment and entrepreneurship.

As a partner at Goldman Sachs, a weighted global investment banking company, Egyptian-American Dina Powell has left the mammoth bank to take on a senior role with the Trump administration where she will be tasked to stimulate economic growth, female empowerment, and entrepreneurship.

Born in Cairo and emigrating to Texas with her parents at the age of four, Powell became the youngest presidential personnel assistant to ever enter The White House. Condoleezza Rice has described Powell as, “one of the most capable people 'she' knows. She is creative and committed.”

Having worked at Goldman for 17 years and among many initiatives, Powell administered the “10,000 Women” program, which worked to support female entrepreneurship around the world. With a long and successful history in female economic empowerment, Ivanka Trump, the U.S president elect’s daughter, befittingly reached out to Powell for advice regarding women’s programming, prompting Powell’s transition onto the team. As a major advocate for women, Powell is expected to become a powerful figure under Trump’s America and is one of the first selections to his team that has bipartisan support.
