Becoming a Jihadi while bombing and beheading your way to a supposed Islamic state? There's an app for that! Those nice guys at ISIS (The Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham) have decided to drag their archaic teror tactics into the 21st century. ISIS - a former Al-Qaeda afiliate, later ditched by the group over their extreme views, are currently attempting to force an extremist Sharia leader on Iraq and Syria through any means necessary.

The new app titled Fajer Al Bashaer (Dawn of Good Omens), delivers news and links to articles about ISIS “successes” in Syria, where the group is based. According to the application's website, the programme provides users "with the latest news and operations of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant." The software is pedalled by Jihadi forums and Twitter accounts and has been downloaded approximately 1,000 times since its launch last month.

It is also connected to a Twitter account called Al-Nusrah Al Muqadisa (The Holy Victory), which has over 26,000 followers. Meanwhile the app’s developers say their goal is to “assist the victory of the Islamic state by conveying its messages to Muslims everywhere.”

And the group - famous for their public flogging and beheadings - has even grasped the joys of social media. The group's messages are scheduled to appear online repeatedly at regular intervals on Twitter.

CairoScene attempted to contact distributors, including Google, in an effort to have the application removed from their online store. However, despite numerous complaints, the application was still available for download at the time of publication.
