Top Cop Killed in Triple Blast

Police officers killed in explosions at Cairo University, believed to have targeted Central Security Forces.

Three bombs have exploded near Cairo University, killing two people The first blast happened in front of the university, close to the Orman Park, while a second explosion took place near the Faculty of Engineering.

Meanwhile a third blast took place the university's main gates shortly after 1pm.

Five police officers were also injured in the wave of attacks, which is also caused part of the building to collapse. 

One of the dead is Director of Western Giza Investigations Tarek El-Mergawy.
Meanwhile the other fatality is thought to be an unnamed  civilian.

An eyewitness told Cairo Scene: "The first explosion happened next to the Orman park, it looked like an IED targetting a CSF vehicle parked nearby. The second bomb was placed at Nahda Street. Once the explosion happened people began to run towards the university. Moments later CSF forces fired tear gas in an attempt to disperse the crowd."
