The Ministry of Planning has Allocated EGP 5.4 Billion to Complete 315 Stalled Projects in Egypt

Minister of Planning Hala El-Saeed announced that the government budget has allocated EGP 5.4 billion in the fiscal year 2018-2019 to complete 315 important projects that have stalled for numerous financial, technical, and legal reasons, according to Ahram.

El-Saeed added that some of the stalled projects are hospitals, calling on the Minister of Health and governors to resolve the issues needed to complete these projects.

56% of the investments will go to the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Development with investments worth around EGP 3 billion for 235 different projects, while the Ministry of Youth and Sports will be receiving EGP 601 million for 21 projects.

By governorate, Aswan will receive 12% of the budget worth EGP 634 million to complete 27 projects, while Assiut and Port Said will both receive 10% of the budget.

In February last year, Hala El-Saeed approved EGP 1.627 billion to assist in stalled projects, so they can contribute to the economy and create job opportunities for the youth.
