Biggest King Tut Exhibition to Be on Display In France

In an effort to promote international tourism in Egypt as well as nurture stronger cultural ties, the cabinet gave the green light for temporary exhibition of “King Tut: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh” to be transferred from the California Science Centre to the Grand Lafayette Hall in Paris, France. 

On display from March 18, 2019, to Sept. 30, 2019, the exhibition is made up of 150 artifacts, and is considered one of the biggest collections from the Pharaoh's tomb to be shown outside of Egypt. 

The artifacts, which are meant to be on display for 10 months, will be transferred to Europe starting January 2019. 60 artifacts will also be exiting Egypt temporarily and returned permanently to the Grand Egyptian Museum.

Tutankhamen, an 18th dynasty Pharaoh, presided over Egypt in 1341 B.C ,and took power when he was around nine years old. He is arguably the most well-known pharaoh, and his tomb is one of the best preserved. It was unearthed in 1922, around 3000 years following the pharaoh's death.
