Tragic news has surfaced that a boat carrying as many as 600 migrants has capsized off the coast of the Mediterranean port city of Rosetta.

The story is currently unfolding, but according to Reuters, Egyptian authorities have so far recovered 29 bodies and have managed to rescue as many as 150. The tragic incident is simply the latest migrant ship to capsize, as for months the EU’s border agency had warned that a growing number of Europe-bound migrants have begun departing from Egypt.

According to a report released by the UN, more than 10,000 people have died crossing the Mediterranean since 2014.

The situation is still unfolding so we will update you as more news becomes available.
