Bubbles!

You know how for years you’ve been complaining that Cairo doesn’t have one single place that serves flavoured drinks with squidgy tapioca balls at the bottom? Well, complain no more little Scenesters. Your time has come.

Bubbles!

Bubblicious has swaggered its way into Zamalek – the island homeland of ‘cute’ concepts. Bubblicious also has various brunch-style offerings (pancakes, french toast and the like) but it’s the Bubble Tea that’s the real USP.

Originally hailing from Taiawan, this tea-based drink – most commonly known as ‘Boba’ is served cold and offered in an array of flavours with a choice of either small chewy tapioca or yogurt balls. We tried the Lime Boba and we knew we’d found home. (This is hyperbole to cover up the fact that the little balls made our skin crawl a little, but in that way that turns you on as well).
Bubblicious is located in 6A Ismail Mohammed St, Zamalek.
