Cairo Hotels Are Reaching Pre-2011 Occupancy Levels

Colliers International’s latest MENA Hotel Forecasts report for June-August 2017 found that hotel occupancy levels in Cairo are rising to a 72% average.

A recent report has found that Cairo hotel occupancy is steadily reaching pre-2011 levels. Colliers International’s latest MENA Hotel Forecasts report for June-August 2017 found that hotel occupancy levels in Cairo are rising to a 72% average, despite a drop in revenues per available room due to the exchange rate.

This comes on the heels of the number of tourists visiting Egypt reaching 716 thousand in April, rising by 68.4%, according to CAPMAS figures. European visitors increased by 101.5 percent to 270 thousand visitors, with German tourists making up the bulk of that number, increasing by 40.7 percent, followed by visitors from the UK, whose numbers grew 10.4 percent, while tourists from Italy increased by 9 percent.
