Dokki Bridge Cracks, Gets Covered with Metal Plate

A crack appeared on Dokki Bridge in the direction of Cairo University, causing major traffic congestion as drivers struggled to avoid it, Youm7 reports.

Photos of the broken expansion joints circulated on social media on Saturday, accompanied by warnings urging drivers to exercise extra caution while driving on there. In turn, Abdel Rahim Ali, MP representing Dokki and Agouza, called on the Giza municipal authorities to fix the bridge before any fatalities or injuries occur.In an attempt to provide temporary relief, Giza authorities decided to cover the gape with a metal plate, pending proper maintenance and repair of the bridge, according to Masr AlArabia.
