Egypt and Sudan Will Soon Be Connected by Bus and Railroad Lines

Egypt's Ministry of Transport has announced an agreement it has reached with Sudan's transportation authorities to extend direct bus lines between Cairo and Khartoum as well as Aswan and Khartoum, reports Youm 7. Both parties have agreed to put the project up for bidding.

Khartoum and Cairo have also agreed to resume efforts to extend railroad lines between the two countries, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Transport.

The agreement came after a meeting between Egyptian Transport Minister Galal Said with Sudanese Minister of Transport, Roads, and Bridges Mikkawy Awad. The talks were also attended by the heads of railway transportation, roads, maritime and river transportation and civil aviation authorities in both countries.
