‘Enta Me3alem’ Singer Will Appear in Court For Allegedly Raping a French Woman

Known for his hit song of the year ‘Enta Me3alem’, the Moroccan singer, Saad Lamjarred, has been accused of raping a French woman in a prestigious hotel while touring in France. The 31-year-old singer has been in the Fleury-Merogis prison since his arrest on the 26th of October – three days before his performance at the Paris Conference Palace. Lamjarred is set to appear in a French on Friday the 23rd of December.

Another case of rape and abuse, which happened in 2010, has come to light with the victim being an America girl, according to the New York Daily News. However, the victim’s lawyer has told Al Arabiya that they will not be filing the case.

Since his arrest, Lamjarred has received support from the Moroccan king, Mohammed VI, after the accused’s parents urged the king to intervene in the matter (or maybe he’s just a fan). With the presumption of innocence, the king has vowed to cover the legal costs of Lamjarred’s trial, as well as appointing a lawyer in France to represent him on Friday.
