After declaring 3 national days of mourning to honour victims of yesterday's twin church bombings in Tanta and Alexandria, Egypt's Government has approved the Ministry of Social Solidarity's decision to grant EGP 100K as 'compensation' to the families of those who lost their lives to the terrorist attacks. The decision also set a special non-conditional pension of EGP 1,500 to each family, Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Waly told Youm7.

In the latest estimate, the death toll of both bombings reached 46, while fatal injuries increased to 126.

The news comes as the government officially approves President El-Sisi's decision to enforce the state of emergency for 3 months starting 1 PM today. According to the Egyptian constitution, the final word on the matter goes to parliament, which should decide within 7 days of today, according to Mada Masr.
