Gu Bar: Tabla Turns Chinese in Cairo

Oh, Tabla tales - how we miss all the gossip and grandeur of a night out at the infamous hot spot. When summer is over, so are those extravgant nights unfortunately... Until now. After becoming a regular fixture on our summer partying circut, Tabla finally makes it way to Cairo this December, with an Asian twist. Introducing Gù Bar - Gù being the Mandarin word for drum... Tabla ya3ny! Founder Ahmed Wahdan finally let the cat out of the bag and gave us the exclusive on the much-anticipated opening. Are you ready Cairo?

The Chinese-themed bar and club will take over the lower deck of the Nile Maxim, serving up Asian-fusion cuisines and inspired cocktails. Open from 1pm every day, it'll be the go-to place for a daylight tipple, and after-work dinner and drinks. In fact, Wahdan wants the post-work drinks culture to take off in Egypt so much so, that every Monday they'll be putting on a full club night, "the only difference being it'll start at 5pm, end by 11pm and have you in bed by midnight!" Tuesdays will pay homage to the fairer sex and is slated to be one of the most generous ladies nights on the Cairo calendar. Come the weekend, and you can expect all the signatue fun and frivolity of Tabla, as the bar turns into a club every night. Wahdan is also gearing up for an epic New Year's Eve event but wouldn't spill the secrets on that one...
