Portrait Avenue's CJC Debut

Having been on our radar for some time now, Alexandrian Indie rockers Portrait Avenue mark another milestone in their trajectory next week when they hit the stage at Cairo Jazz Club.

It's going to be a big day for Alexandria-based Indie band Portrait Avenue who have already made quite an impact on Egypt's underground and alternative scenes, as they make their Cairo Jazz Club debut, cementing themselves among the who's who of the local music industry. That's not to negate their achievements thus far. Far from it; these guys have been on our radar for some time now, since they won Battle of the Bands and Red Bull's Bedroom Jam - which won them the opportunity to record their debut album in Madrid and release their debut single and video Spiral. Playing at Cairo Jazz Club was only a matter of time, and that time is this Tuesday 27th January!

After this first-time performance, Cairo Jazz Club will welcome an old favourite: Tom Waits' tribute band The Raindogs will take over from Portrait Avenue and keep their momentum going with the familiar and popular sound of the Rock and Soul legend. So sounds like this night will be a mix of old and new, surprising and familiar, and original hits and exciting covers. Sound like it would be a tragedy to miss it…
