Egypt's Ministry of Agriculture signed on Tuesday a protocol with the Korean Arab Association to begin construction of an integrated agriculture city south-east of Qattara Depression with a total cost of $10 billion. The news were announced by Prime Minister Sherif Ismail in a press conference following the signing ceremony, Shorouk News reports.

Utilizing the latest technologies in agriculture and construction, the 300K feddans agriculture city will include 50 thousand smart greenhouses in addition to seawater desalination and solar power plants.

The agriculture city, which will be entirely built by Egyptian workers under South Korean supervision, is set to be completed within a 6-month time frame, according to the Prime Minister, who further added that the project is one of the outcomes of President El-Sisi's visit to South Korea earlier this year.
