There's a Clothes Swap Happening in Cairo This Friday

Got any clothes buried deep in your cupboards you want to get rid of but don’t quite want to throw away? This Friday, the Swiss Club in Imbaba has the answer. They're hosting a special event where you can donate any of your slightly used clothes, shoes, and other accessories or exchange them for other diamonds in the rough. It’s a convenient opportunity for you to give your unwanted possessions a new lease of life with new owners.

SharingCairo are organising the event and are very much eager for volunteers to help out. You can either just drop off your clothes (no later than 1 PM) or have a look around at what others have brought to commandeer for yourself. Be reasonable with what you choose to give away though as underwear, swimsuits, dirty laundry, and items damaged beyond any sort of usefulness won’t be accepted. Give only what you would take for yourself. Just use some common sense, you know? It’s not a high-class rubbish dump.

The event ends at 5 PM and SharingCairo will donate all the leftovers to charity. It’s the closest thing you’ll find to a British-style charity shop in Cairo, so skip that Friday morning lie-in and clear out your wardrobes.

Check out the event page for more details.
