FIFA World Cup is Coming to Egypt, and Here's Where to Find it

The titular trophy is going around the world in a string of visits, and it’s making a stop in our humble little Cairo for some fun with fans.

Although they might not be - you know - sentient, trophies need vacation time too. Especially ones that represent a sporting event for the world’s most popular sport; football (or soccer if you’re basic). Yes, friends, the 2018 FIFA World Cup is making its way to Egypt from on the 15th and 16th of March for some sightseeing and fan interaction (as well as our lush variety of podiums to sit on). Courtesy of the good folks over at Coca-Cola.

The cup is going to start making its rounds this coming weekend; stopping by the presidential palace first and foremost to discuss important political issues (mostly about the trophy rights movement), then it’ll casually make its way to the ever-eventful consumerist wonderland that is Cairo Festival City. Fans can stop by and pay their respects to the trophy, talk to it about why soccer is a dumb word and just catch up, you know? Woops, we almost forgot to mention something pretty snazzy; if you apply the Coca-Cola filter to your Facebook profile pic as well as your Instagram, tagging Coca-Cola in the process and using the #كوكاكولا_بتستعد hashtag, you might just win yourself a ticket to go get your pictures taken with the cup (if it’s feeling like it).

There’s even more to come during the festivities; with a lush red carpet shindig streaming the happenings over at CFC as well as a thing or two in El Gouna, but we’re not too keen on spoilers, so you’ll just have to wait and see.
