Approved Reforms to Egyptian Educational System Include Tablets for Students

Head of the education sector within the Ministry of Education, Dr. Reda Hegazy has announced the implementation of a new education system in Egypt, which will see tablets distributed to students among other improvements, reported Masrawy on Wednesday.  

While 2018-2019 high schools will witness a trial with the tablet, Hegazy emphasizes that school books will still be required as a precaution until students have adapted to the electronic addition. 

This comes in an effort to mend the challenges faced by the Educational system in Egypt. The improvements - which have been approved by Egypt's ministry of Education - will be put into effect in the coming school year, starting in September. 

Hegazy adds that the developments will be implemented in two sectors, beginning with kindergarten and primary school, both of which will see a new curriculum put into place. The new curriculum will integrate a focus on creativity and character building. The second sector to be improved will be the high school system which will see students receiving Tablets as well. Curriculum changes will be implemented at a later time however as the books have already been printed out for the first year high-school students. 

Ahmed Khairy, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Education has added that a press conference will be arranged to reveal the details of the new system and its implementation.
