The World’s Tallest Man And Smallest Woman Are Coming To Egypt to Promote Tourism

In an announcement by Guinness World Records this past Saturday, Sultan Kosen, the tallest man on earth as well as Jyoti Amge, the smallest woman on Earth, will be paying Egypt a visit from the 26th to the 29th of January as they tour the country’s most prominent touristic sites in an effort to boost tourism.

The world record holders are set to take part in a conference in the Fairmont Nile City hotel in Cairo, telling inspirational tales about their challenges in life as well as their insights growing up the way they are. Kosen, a Turkish farmer from Mardin, measures in at 243 cm (about seven feet and 97 inches) while Amge, an Indian actress, comes in at just 62.8 cm (a fraction over two feet). You might recognise her in the role of Ma Petite in the fourth season of American Horror Story. Both record holders won their respective records in 2011.

Currently, the Ministry of Tourism and the Tourism Promotion Authority are planning a number of events in order to attract Egyptians willing to break world records or apply to be title holders in the Guinness World Records. This is all in an attempt to attract global attention to Egypt and give the tourism sector some much needed assistance. Egypt is no stranger to Guinness, holding several world records and being mentioned in the book 86 times.
