The increasingly popular stage show 'Cinema Masr' are taking their show to Alexandria after a successful run at the Cairo Opera House!
Remember that one scene from that one classic movie that's all in black-and-white with swelling orchestras that touched your heart? It made you laugh, it made you cry, and most importantly, it gave you an appreciation for why Egypt was considered a cultural powerhouse throughout the 20th century. And honouring that legacy is the increasingly popular stage show 'Cinema Masr', who are taking their show to Alexandria after a successful run at the Cairo Opera House! With a total cast of 65 actors and actresses – all of whom are graduates of the Artistic Creativity Centre – the play takes audiences down the cinematic nostalgia lane, reenacting over 40 scenes from Egyptian cinema through the ages. The play is landing in Alexandria Opera House for three consecutive nights, from October 19th to October 21st.
The play – directed by Khaled Galal, head of the Actor’s Studio at the Artistic Creativity Centre– has been performed more than a dozen times since its premiere last summer.
