One man's trash is another man's treasure, and that man is from Mansoura and he's making beautiful colourful art out of used tires.
Just when we thought Egyptians couldn’t get any more inventive, a man out of Daqahliyah's Mansoura is proving us all wrong. What do you do with a used (read: useless) tire? Aside from rolling it down the road with a stick and embracing your inner shawar3i-loving childhood, the alternative is to burn it. Hundreds of toxic components are released in the process of burning tires, and this country doesn’t need any more pollution. Instead of exposing us to further pollution, Ahmad Hameed of Mansoura puts used tires to good use.
Aside from tire-derived fuel, the Mansoura resident has discovered another purpose for the unsightly extendable car component – a purely aesthetic one. Hameed turns them into beautifully coloured, unconventional pieces of furniture and ornaments and his work is rapidly going viral on Facebook! We've always known that our demographic of Egyptians is a creative one, and we love seeing how different people think outside the box and come up with crazy cool things like this.
