The fresh funds will help the B2C platform expand its customer base, diversify its offerings and develop its tech stack to drive volume and revenue.
The global movement towards adopting a more health-centric lifestyle has seeped into MENA and a few key players are taking over the specialised e-commerce space. Witnessing an influx of angel investment and venture capital, the health industry is proving to be a lucrative bet. 3attar, a foodtech startup based in Cairo, has been paying close attention to the growing global health trend, becoming the first and only platform wholly dedicated to serving the health-conscious community in Egypt and the MENA region.
Now, the health-centric e-commerce platform has secured a seed investment from AUC Angels, UI Investment and individual Angel investors. The fresh funds will help the B2C platform expand its customer base, diversify its offerings and develop its tech stack to drive volume and revenue.
Founded in 2019, the platform not only facilitates the purchase and delivery of health food and product but also offers diet-consultation programs, live-coaching and subscription plans. The pandemic helped fuel 3attar’s selection expansion from a few hundred products to more than 3000, taking it to the forefront of Egypt’s healthy shopping space. This is just the beginning for the startup, however, with founder and CEO, Mohamed Ali, plotting big moves.
“We aim to become the dominant one-stop-shop for the whole health community in Egypt and expand into Mena regions; including chronic diseases and obesity by providing a holistic healthy lifestyle app,” he said of the investment and what it means for 3attar moving forward.
The company targets a wide range of segments from at-risk individuals without access to resources to health-conscious individuals looking to maintain a holistic lifestyle. 3attar has centralised a number of key services on one platform, making it the go-to destination for everything from subscription food plans and diet consultations to live coaching and other holistic lifestyle needs.
