'Factory One' Training Programmes Launched to Empower SMEs in Qatar

The Qatari Development Bank is doing its part to help small and medium enterprises with Factory One, the region's first 'model factory' concept.

The Qatar Development Bank (QDB) has launched Factory One, the region's first Model Factory concept with the goal of enabling Qatari SMEs to thrive. Empowered by positive market trends in local industries, Factory One is seen as another step towards Qatari self-sufficiency, using world-class experience with collaborators McKinsey & Company to bring SME transformation programmes to local businesses and startups.

"Qatar is among the fastest-growing global economies in the world," CEO of QDB Abdulaziz bin Nasser Al Khalifa said. "The emergence of new industries, factories and enterprises demonstrate the vast potential that underpins our comprehensive economic development. Factory One enters the scene to support these industries tap into their full potential by taking them to the next stage of production.”

At the moment Factory One has four training programmes on offer, ranging from Introductory lessons to hands-on transformational training ventures. They also include remote training for those who could not attend the facility in person. For more information, you can visit
