Apparently a meeting between Obama and the Brotherhood in the company of Turkish diplomats has been arranged for later this month.
Looks like the clearing of Raba'a will have to wait a little longer. It has just been announced that U.S. President Barack Obama has agreed to meet with Muslim Brotherhood representatives at the White House according to Egypt Independent.
Hassen Malek, an Islamist-linked billionaire, requested the meeting to be held with Brotherhood officials in the presence of Turkish officials. The meeting is supposedly the meeting will take place later this month.
Turkish diplomats are expected to push for Mohamed Morsi to be reinstated as president, but may just have to settle for political survival, after the month-long violent stand-off. Over 300 people have been reporteded to have been killed since the ousting of Morsi on July 3rd.
While a number of Brotherhood leaders have publicly criticised the U.S stance accusing them of playing a role in Morsi's overthrow, although this meeting may change their tune if the meeting turns out to be productive.
