A small slice of a pie worth $40 billion.
The Egyptian Textiles Export Council has revealed that exports of ready-made garments to German reached a record $144 million in 2018, according to Amwal Al Ghad.
Germany’s imports of ready-made garments were worth a whopping $40 billion, of which Egypt’s share was 0.3%.
“Germany is one of the key markets whereby Egypt seeks to increase its exports of ready-made garments there within the upcoming period,” the Egyptian Textiles Export Council on Wednesday.
Aside from Germany, other countries like the USA, Turkey, Spain, Britain, North Ireland,Italy, France, Saudi Arabia, Belgium and the Netherlands have also shown increased interest in the Egyptian ready-made garments.
