Christmas at Alchemy & CJC

The festive folks over at Cairo Jazz Club and Alchemy have quite the merriment in store for us all this Christmas.

For many an Egyptian, Christmas traditions slightly alter from those of the Western world; presents are often replaced with drinks and family time is usually switched for a great night on the town. Getting us feeling all the right kinds of festive has become Cairo Jazz Club's forte over the years, and their little brother of a bar, Alchemy, has been getting in on the act too and this time, their line up looks better than ever. There's even a chance to do a good deed, as proceeds of CJC's Christmas Eve party will go to charity. It is giving season, after all.

But first thing's first: fabulous festive food. From Sunday 22nd to Friday 27th Alchemy will be offering a very special Christmas menu. Even if you "don’t do Christmas," there’s no harm in indulging in some of the culinary bonuses, like a holiday pick ‘n’ mix. And on the 25th Alchemy will host its big Xmas Feast where they’ll be serving hot, spiced mulled wine which, if you don't already know, puts a whole new, delicious dimension on winter drinking.

On Christmas Eve, CJC host a charity event with acoustic crooner Shady Ahmed and Beatles cover band Glass Onion at Jingle Bell Rock. All proceeds from the night will be donated to Tadamon; a very special NGO that supports refugees in Egypt. In return, revelers can expect a chilled out night of great live music, and plenty of songs you can sing along to.

Following that, on Christmas Day, 'tis the Season to be Naughty and DJ Mohasseb will bring a new meaning to A Visit From St.Nicholas, where all you will hear is House and creatures will be stirring long into the night. Whether you have been naughty or nice is pretty irrelevant, Mohasseb doesn’t judge, the gift of good music is for all.

Get ready for your Christmas hangovers.
