What would it be like to listen to the brilliantly soulful arrangements of Sandro Schneebeli and Max Pizio in total darkness? In collaboration with the Swiss Embassy, the two musicians will be performing a pitch black concert with the help of blind Egyptian volunteers who will guide your way...
As you’ve heard from us before, composer and musician, Sandro Schneebeli, is back in Egypt with partner in crime, Max Pizio, this time performing at ROOM Art Space & Café, and in collaboration with the Embassy of Switzerland. A “Concert in the Dark” is in the works, an event whose name speaks for itself. The concert will literally take place in complete darkness, and blind Egyptian volunteers will guide attendees from the entrance, into the concert and back.
Three concerts are set to take place at ROOM Art Space & Café; the first being Wednesday, November 4th at 8:00 PM, followed by back-to-back concerts on Thursday, November 5th at 7:00 PM then again at 9:00 PM. The duo are also going to Alexandria for two concerts on Saturday, November 7th at 7:00 PM and again at 9:00 PM at El Cabina.
So, what’s it like to listen to Schneebeli and Pizio’s soulful and at times impulsive arrangements in pitch darkness? What’s it like to listen to any music without the sense of sight? A heightened audible experience, to say the least. Entry is free; however, limited spots are available at each venue, so get there early to ensure your space.
