The Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation has set up a toy donation initiative to help uplift their young patients' morale.
The Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation do wonders to help children all over the nation, and their latest social media campaign needs your help. The foundation shared that the only things missing from their fully-equipped rooms are toys to brighten up their hospital stays of the many children they treat. Both old and new toys are more than welcomed for donation, which should play a huge part in terms of improving the children’s morale and overall mood in the period of their treatment and recovery.
In 2008, Professor Sir Magdi Yacoub, the late Professor Ahmed Zewail and Ambassador Mohamed Shaker founded the foundation. It provides the latest free-of-charge medical services to the community, particularly towards underprivileged patients. The foundation also focuses on training its doctors and patients to a global level. Another one of their goals is to advance Egyptian biomedical research. They perform 4000 cardiac surgeries and procedures per year, more than half of which are performed on children, with 550 healthcare professionals trained each year.
If you’re interested in donating toys to this worthy cause, you can deliver them to their Cairo headquarters at 7 Aziz Abaza Street, Zamalek, first floor. For inquiries, you can contact 01091333009.
