The Ministry of Local Development announced new opening hours for shops, cafes and restaurants for the winter season, which will go into effect starting September 30th until the last Friday of April, 2022.
All shops and malls will be open from 7 AM to 10 PM, with the hours extending to 11 PM on Thursdays, Fridays and holidays. Restaurants, cafes and bazaars - including those that are located inside malls - will be open from 5 AM to midnight, with takeaway and delivery services allowed to operate 24 hours a day.
Workshops and craft shops within residential areas can be open from 8 AM to 6 PM, with the exception of workshops on roads and gas stations, or workshops for essential services, which will have its hours determined at a later date.
The opening hours for shops in coastal and tourist governorates can be adjusted by the Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Licensing Public Shops, if a proposal by the governor or the head of the New Urban Communities Authority is submitted through the proper channels. Grocery stores, supermarkets and bakeries are excluded from these hours, in consideration of necessary nighttime operations.
