Egypt & UN Sign Deal to Develop Eco-Friendly Industrial Zones

The parks falls under the UNIDO Programme of Country Partnership in Egypt, which oversees international cooperation between national industries and global organizations.

The Ministry of Trade and Industry has signed an agreement with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to develop Eco-Industrial Parks in Egypt, with funding by the government of Switzerland.


The parks falls under the UNIDO Programme of Country Partnership in Egypt, which oversees international cooperation between national industries and global organizations. This partnership was initiated in 2021, and is aimed at developing Egypt's industry to modern standards in terms of technology and sustainability.


In addition to their environmental benefits, these eco-friendly industrial complexes will attract domestic and foreign industrial investments, creating new job opportunities and facilitating a wider transition to a sustainable economy.
