Egypt’s First Artificial Intelligence Faculty Launches at Kafr El Sheikh University

Set to take its first set of students in the coming 2019/2020 academic year, Kafr El Sheikh University has launched the very first faculty in Egypt dedicated to artificial intelligence (AI), as reported by Egypt Today.

Established in collaboration with UAE’s Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University, the program will offer students a four-year bachelor’s degree in industrial sciences with a view to producing graduates to work in the growing smart systems sector, with specialisations in specific fields including nanotechnology, the internet of things and human development.

Kafr El Sheih University President, Maged Al Kamary, also revealed that the faculty will adopt new teaching methods based around interactive learning and digital technology. So, who knows - maybe we'll soon have our own version of Sophia the Robot (pictured above). Sawsan the Robot?
