Saudi Arabia Bans Viber

Authorities in KSA state that web-based telephone call service Viber is difficult to monitor and affecting mobile service providers' revenues.

Saudi Arabia's telecom regulator has banned use of the web-based communication application Viber, which is hard for the state to monitor and deprives licensed telecom companies of revenue from international calls and texts.

It’s hard to imagine how a regime can be so oppressive in the age of the internet but it will eventually bight them back in the ass. Until then, Saudis will just have to continue sexting via Bluetooth.
