This new report is based on the Ookla Speedtest Global Index, which measured internet speeds during January 2021.
Have you noticed how your TikTok feed is loading up just a little bit faster, how those YouTube videos are popping in just a little less awkwardly? As it turns out, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has reported that out of all the nations in Africa, Egypt came out with the fastest internet speeds with an average of 35.67 Mbit/s, or 4.458 megabytes a second.
The report was based on the Ookla Speedtest Global Index, which measured internet speeds during January 2021. These high speeds are the result of a number of policies that has been adopted by the Ministry of Communications, with plans to further develop and improve services with Telecom Egypt.
