Alexandria's 'Bamboo Flavours of Indonesia' Make Actual Nasi Goreng

Homecooked by an expatriated Indonesian, this takeout joint is authenticity redefined.

Homecooked by chef Susie Mortagui, Bamboo Flavours of Indonesia is the takeout joint and brainchild of expatriated Indonesian that has launched its services in Alexandria. With some of our fav Indonesian classics on the menu like tom yum, nasi goreng, fried banana, and bamboo salad, the eatery is far from a traditional restaurant— it’s moms home cooking.

The takeout joint is located on Ahmad Shawky Street, and first opened its doors back in 2016. Since then, the small shop has made quite the name for itself in the tiny, but super powerful, Asian dining scene in Alexandria.
