Cooking for yourself can be scary and really hard if you don’t know how. Taking a bunch of stuff, like vegetables and animals, and turning it into food requires foresight, knowledge, and fine motor skills that sadly not all of us possess. Most of us resort to eating out, or just starve to death, rather than cook for ourselves and potentially embarrass ourselves or make something that tastes like refried cardboard. Just Cook solves that by sending you everything you need for a kick-ass meal, plus step by step instructions that even a monkey could follow. As long as that monkey can read English or Arabic.
Sure, some of us have the time to go shopping, chopping up whatever we’ve foraged up, then somehow get that pile of almost-food to turn into something that won’t clog our arteries with sweet, tasty cholesterol. But for the rest of us, having a swanky little box show up at our house with a recipe and all the necessary ingredients freshly prepped, it would save so much precious time and cash and give our lives something faintly resembling order or stability.
So we decided to test just how useful Just Cook really was with a little cook-off. When professional chef May Yacoubi, with all her experience, was given a bunch of raw ingredients and put up against CairoZoom's illustrious Munky El Bakry, who's only got Just Cook to back her up, they both ended up with the same steaming plate of tastiness. Find out what went down in our Just Cook off here...
The Just Cook Off
Curious about this new boxed up gourmet cooking fad we decided to pit our Munky El Bakry against celebrity chef May Yacoubi to see if Just Cook's ingredients and recipe would match the real thing... http://www.thecairoscene.online/Eats/The-Just-Cook-Off-With-May-YacoubiPosted by Cairo Scene on Thursday, 28 January 2016
