Islamic Fashion and Design Council Launches World's First Virtual Fashion Week for Modest Apparel

The Islamic Fashion and Design Council is featuring modest fashion at the forefront of the world’s first ever virtual fashion week, to keep all of the fashionistas who love modest wear up to date on the latest trends.

This one is for all of the times we scrolled through our phones ferociously screen-shotting all the stylish outfits and wacky fashionable garments that we couldn’t physically touch. It’s for all of the times we wished we were sitting opposite the fashion runway turning our heads from left to right as the models walked back and fourth, tutting their heels with a vacant expression. December 2016 was the first time in history that a virtual fashion week had landed online, and it exhibited the isolated category of modest fashion.

Hosted by the Islamic Fashion and Design Council (IFDC), as part of their COVER magazine's Pret-A-Cover Fashion Week (PACFW), the non-conventional virtual runway is celebrating the cuts and patterns of modest clothing by talented designers from around the world, according to Ice Today.

With fashion shows often focusing on setting international trends mostly in the western world, those who choose to dress modestly are often excluded from the latest trends. Hitting two birds with one stone, the virtual fashion week allows modest fashionistas equal opportunities when setting trends, and brings fashion shows to the palms of our hands.

In each issue of the IFDC's COVER magazine, a section will be dedicated to PACFW, showcasing the latest trends in modest fashion and disrupting the conventional way through which fashion is exposed, by creating a new and more equal platform for designers to aspire to.
