Sportswear has long been associated with breaking boundaries, and for Temraza’s new venture it symbolizes a feminist voice through fashion.
Award-winning designer Farida Temraz has taken a courageous new turn from the glitzy world she’s long been known for. She's gone to another stratosphere entirely with the launch of a limited edition sportswear line, F2. F2 by Temraza introduces a nonchalant, powerful, and femininely fierce aesthetic. Made to be worn everywhere and anywhere, the designs speak to a deeper narrative to Egyptian women. Sportswear has long been associated with breaking boundaries, and for Temraza’s new venture it symbolizes a feminist voice through fashion.
“Women are at the centre of all I do. Temraza thinks holistically of its women beyond their evening wear gowns. Even if I am known for couture designs, when I see that there is something I believe women need, I will be there to provide it,” designer Farida Temraz tells #CairoScene. “While we have a long way to go, part of the act of breaking stereotypes is to deafen outside voices, stop screaming back, and listen to your own voice: women’s voices. F2 is here to do that. It is here to take the movement forward and cater to women.”
While the worlds of couture and sportswear seem separate on the surface, a deeper look into the two categories will reveal that they are intrinsically tied at the core. They both aim to empower women to feel and look their best, one through glitz and glam and the other through strength and practicality. “Couture is much more than a category, it is an approach, and this is how I approach my sportswear line. It is the attention to every single detail, the perfect fit, the quality and finish and the glam factor.”
F2 utilises spandex with specific and unique characteristics; sweat resistance, high stretchability, and durability are some of the few things you could expect from the new product line. While F2 won’t be becoming a permanent sister label quite yet, we can trust that Temraza will continue to roll out timely and relevant releases in the future. For now, you can get your hands on these designs online and at Temraza’s Zamalek location.
