Alexandria aims to collect 15,000 all-new pieces of clothing for underprivileged children in Egyptian villages for Eid al-Fitr.
Ah, Eid al-Fitr - the time to dress our kids up in their nicest ‘hedoum el Eid’ and show them off to disinterested friends and family. It’s a tradition that every part of the Arab world celebrates, but not everyone can afford to participate in. The governorate of Alexandria is looking to rectify that with the launch of their donation drive, which aims to collect 15,000 all-new pieces of clothing for underprivileged children.
Institutions throughout the city of Alexandria, such as Alexandria Stadium, will collect the clothes in collaboration with various charities and clothing factories. The donated clothes will then be distributed to children living in underserved villages throughout Egypt.
