UNHCR Unites Refugee and Egyptian Women to Showcase their Incredible Crafts at the Greek Campus

The entertaining and community supportive fair comes to the Greek Campus this Saturday to feature beautiful products made by Egyptian and refugee women, while including authentic and culturally diverse food as well as plenty of kids activities.

Women in Egypt have fewer opportunities due to several socio-economic factors that restrict their access to quality education, health care, and employment possibilities, that are even more difficult to acquire if they're refugees. UNHCR sought to remind us of the struggles that Egyptians and refugees face on their path to a brighter and more dignified future by declaring 2017 as the Year of Women in Egypt.

On Saturday, UNHCR is organising the Refugee and Egyptian Women Business Fair at the Greek Campus in Downtown Cairo. The open-for-all event will feature and sell exquisite products made by refugee and Egyptian women, ensuring they receive fair wages. The products will include organic cosmetics, original artefacts, hand-made embroidery, and jewellery just to name to few.The one-of-a-kind fair will also feature a long list of culturally diverse mouthwatering food options that include authentic Ethiopian, Syrian, and Somali food and pastries. You don't have to leave your little ones behind as UNHCR is including a number of exciting entertainment events for kids. This Saturday, head to the Greek Campus anytime between 12 and 5 PM for a day full of flavorful food, shopping-for-a-cause, and endless fun.
