Get ready for a veritable explosion of lights and sounds, as CJC gears up to host Egypt's pioneering noisemakers in an one of a kind Shaabi night.
For the first time ever, Cairo Jazz Club hosts a loud and proud Electro Shaabi night, and presents uprising pioneers E.E.K with front-man Islam Chipsy creating the sound of the traditional Zourna instrument used in Shaabi music on synth, creatively and with an outburst of relentless passion. Along with double drumming Islam Ta’ta and Khaled Mando taking Egyptian style rhythm and beats to a whole new level, they're guaranteed to fiercely impress and overwhelm with their sonic carnival, and set the venue up in flames as they have over the past year around local and international clubs and festivals.
Another must-see and brilliantly act on the bill are none other than rappers Sadat & 50, renowned for their Mahraganat music, dynamic lyrics and contagious mannerisms. Having toured all over Europe from France to Switzerland and Germany, kicking up a storm, full-throttle with an flare-up of persistent energy, charisma and progressive creativity, you better be practicing your Shaabi dance moves right about now.
This event is in collaboration with 100COPIES MUSIC - SPACE, ever the champions of Egypt's underground music scene. A match made in Shaabi heaven? We think so!
