EgyptAir App Now Lets You Track Your Bags

EgyptAir is activating a tracking service for bags through their smartphone app! The application's available on iOs and Android, so you always know where your checked-in bags are.

Some call it a prison. Others call it Purgatory. Airport officials call it the baggage claim area, but that's only just technically accurate, isn't it? It doesn't really capture the essence of the place. The waiting, the awkward shuffling, the staredown with the conveyor belt as it disappoints you again and again. Oh, you could leave, of course. You could just... go on ahead. Grab a snack. Take a break in the bathroom. But then you remember that one time your cousin or whoever had their bag stolen or mistakenly dragged away and is that really a risk you want to take? Could you even be sure it made it to the right airport? So you stand there, desperately trying to find some amusing diversion on your phone to keep time from standing still.

That phone of yours could be your ticket to freedom. EgyptAir is activating a tracking service for bags through their smartphone app! The application's available on iOs and Android, and as long as you manually enter the information it asks for or scan the QR code you get when you're checking in your baggage, you'll be able to ensure you know approximately almost exactly where your stash is at all times, or at least all the times you have an internet connection.

If you already have the app, make sure it's updated to version 6.6 to access this new service.
