MASQ invites anyone and everyone to come to the entrance of the Qubbat Effendina and stroll through the deserts of the Mamluks and the City of the Dead to take as many pictures as they please.
Take unforgettable pictures of Cairo's most gorgeous 15th-century monuments on this free Photo Walk with Maq'ad of Sultan Qaitbey (MASQ), a cultural centre showcasing life in the City of the Dead. In collaboration with ARCHiNOS and Redefine Egypt - two organisations that have dedicated themselves to preserving Cairo's layered architectural heritage - MASQ invites anyone and everyone to come to the entrance of the Qubbat Effendina and stroll through the deserts of the Mamluks and the City of the Dead, taking as many pictures as they please of this picturesque segment of Egyptian history.
Not only will you be able to go on a deep dive into the area's past, but you will also have the opportunity to engage with its present. MASQ will bring you door-to-door with the people who work and live in this part of town, giving you an intimate look at the vibrant community thriving in this medieval necropolis.
MASQ's Photo Walk is totally free, and you won't even have to register for it. Just show up at the entrance of the Qubbat Effendina at 1:00 PM on December 4th, and be prepared to immerse yourself in the mysteries of the necropolis until 5:00 PM.
